Who Is Knull? History of Knull Marvel's Symbiote God Villain and King In Black

Knull, the creator of all symbiotes, will come to earth. As Venom is outmatched, Earth's heroes must unite against this foe.

Knull the god of symbiotes

Symbiotes are intelligent lifeforms that thrive when bonded with a "host." In Marvel Comics, symbiotes are intelligent lifeforms from another planet. Their species is known as the Klyntar. Peter Parker, Eddie Brock, and Cletus Kasady are among the most famous symbiotes. As a result of the symbiote species, these humans were able to take on powers not seen before, becoming characters such as Symbiote/Black Suit Spiderman, Venom, and Carnage. Then where did the symbionts come from? They were created by Knull.

As the most frequently appearing host of the black symbiote in comics, Eddie Brock is the most well-known. The black symbiote produced a red offspring, the red symbiote. Red symbiote fused with serial killer Cletus Kasady, turning him into Spiderman villain Carnage. Marvel has been working on introducing even stronger symbiotes, the creators of symbiotes, to combat the black and red symbiotes. So what does all this have to do with Knull The Symbiote God?

Knull is such an ancient being that he has seen everything that has ever happened. He was so powerful that he killed a Celestial once. Using the All-Black the Necrosword sword, Knull created the first symbiote with the intention of rivaling the Celestials. He ultimately created an artificial planet for the symbiotes he created, such as the black symbiote that bonded with Peter Parker and Eddie Brock. As a symbiote species, the Klyntar rebelled against their creator after learning of justice through their host species. Venom first encounters The God of Symbiotes in Venom #3, when the black symbiote is easily removed from Eddie. The first time they meet Knull, he informs them that the vessel they see is really far away from him.

Knull also featured in Donny Cates and Tradd Moore's Silver Surfer Black series, serving as the primary villain who nearly killed the hero.

Eddie Brock announces Knull The God of Symbiotes' arrival in the most recent Venom arc to The Avengers. In the recent X-Men storyline, Knull also made an appearance. He is the next Avenger-level threat on Earth, with power that rivals the Celestials, who created the universe. Marvel comic book heroes must team up in a huge event dubbed King in Black to combat this near-omnipotent being. There is a resurrected Knull on Earth. This ties into the greater cosmic adventures that Marvel is shifting towards. The progenitor of Venom is coming to plunge the earth into the darkness he so desperately desires.
